"In the Forest of the Night" has me shipping Whouffaldi too much.
Their conflict is what makes them a REAL life-like love.
I don't get the hate this season. In terms of characterization, this season's the best we've probaly ever had in New Who. For one, Clara's so much more of a character than she used to be. She's got the bravery of Martha and Rose, with the moral conscience of Donna.
Oh and the Doctor. Capaldi's given the Doctor so much character. He's not just the "wounded old soldier" he used to be. The Doctor's scared of caring, because life takes everything away from him. He's searching for his planet, but yet there's still nothing. It's been 800 years since he's saved Gallifrey. Everytime he's tried saving something, it's been either a consequence or a failure. Gallifrey, Rose Tyler, Martha Jones, Donna Noble, Amy and Rory and River. He gives Clara the chance to do things cause he's too afraid he'll screw up again and cause yet another tragedy in his name.
I think deep down this Doctor just wants to keep moving cause if he stops then he'd break. He has to choose. His endless desire to run or his companion Clara?
That's what I'm interested to see in "Dark Water" and "Death in Heaven".
